Balsamic Vinaigrette

Knowing how to make a basic vinaigrette for salads is one of the best skills a home cook can have. And happily, this is as easy as combining olive oil and vinegar in a jar with some salt and fresh-cracked black pepper, and then giving that jar a shake. You barely even need a recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In mason jar mix in all the ingredients.
  • Put the lid on and shake together.
  • Good for three days.

Notes

If you don't have a mason jar with a lid, use a bowl and whisk together.
