Cornbread Dressing
Ingredients
- 12 oz cornbread mix
- 1 egg
- ½ cup margarine
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 cup green onion
- 1 tsp rubbed sage
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp baking powder
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Make cornbread as directed by package; cool 25 minutes, then crumble into a medium bowl.
- Heat 1/4 cup of margarine in a skillet; add the celery, green onion; saute until celery is tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the celery mix to the cornbread along with the seasonings (except baking powder), egg, and the broth.
- Mix well, add the baking powder.
- Arrange in a greased baking dish,
- Bake covered 30 minutes then remove the foil, and bake 15 more minutes or until browned.
