Cornbread Dressing

Here in the south we call it dressing, not stuffing…

Ingredients

12 oz of Cornbread Mix
1 Egg
1/2 cup Tub Margarine
1 Stalk of Celery
1 Cup of Green Onion
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 cup of Chicken Broth
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste

Steps

Step 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2. Make cornbread as directed by package; cool 25 minutes, then crumble into a medium bowl.
Step 3. Heat 1/4 cup of margarine in a skillet; add the celery, green onion; saute until celery is tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 4. Add the celery mix to the cornbread along with the seasonings (except baking powder), egg, and the broth.
Step 5. Mix well, add the baking powder.
Step 6. Arrange in a greased baking dish,
Step 7. Bake covered 30 minutes then remove the foil, and bake 15 more minutes or until browned.
