Fleischmann Simply Homemade Pretzel Dogs
Making homemade bread and rolls with Simply Homemade couldn’t be easier.
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 pkg simply homemade pretzel creations
- ¾ cup hot water 120-130 degrees
- 8 hot dogs
Egg Wash
- 1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp of water
Instructions
- Combine pretzel mix and yeast in a large bowl. Stir in the very warm water. Mix until thoroughly combined. (Dough may be stiff; use hands if desired.)
- Cover dough and let rise 25 minutes in a warm, draft free place. (Dough will not double in size.)
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Place dough on a clean, dry surface and divide into 8 equal pieces. (Cover with a towel to prevent dough from drying out.)
- Roll each piece into an 18 to 24-inch roll.
- Roll each hot dog in a paper towel to dry any juices off the outside.
- Place end of the rope on one side of the hot dog at one end.
- Twist the hot dog, rolling the dough around the surface of the dog.
- Place each wrapped hot dog on the prepared baking sheet.
- Generously brush each pretzel dog with the egg wash.
- Optional: Sprinkle the salt over the top of the egg wash.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
You will not need the baking soda for this recipe.
