Baked Ziti
This combines pasta, Italian sausage, and sauce.
Ingredients
- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic diced
- italian sausage crumbled
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- ½ cup white wine
- ½ cup milk
- 3 cups tomato sauce
- ¾ tsp oregano dried
- ½ tsp rosemary dried
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 cup mozzarella
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Heat a large pot of water and cook ziti as directed.12 oz ziti pasta
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet heat oil until hot (not smoking).2 tsp olive oil
- Add onion & garlic and cook on medium heat stirring often until tender.1 onion, 3 cloves garlic
- Stir in sausage and cook until its no longer pink.italian sausage
- Add the wine, and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated.½ cup white wine
- Stir in the flour until well combined.2 tbsp all purpose flour
- Add the milk and cook until slightly thickened.½ cup milk
- Stir in tomato sauce and seasonings and cook for about five minutes.3 cups tomato sauce, ¾ tsp oregano, ½ tsp rosemary, ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp pepper
- Add the meat sauce to the pasta and toss until it's all coated evenly.
- Spoon the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish and bake for 10 minutes uncovered.
- Add the cheese to the top and bake 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
